Compact Hinoki Cypress
Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Compacta', commonly known as Compact Hinoki Cypress, is a slow-growing evergreen shrub or small tree that is native to Japan. It typically grows up to 6-10 feet tall and 4-8 feet wide with a conical to pyramidal shape. The foliage is dense, with overlapping scales that are green to bluish-green in color, turning bronze in the winter. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and partial to full sun. It is often used in Japanese gardens, as well as in rock gardens and as a specimen plant in landscapes.
