Wells Golden Himalayan Cedar
The Wells Golden Himalayan Cedar (Cedrus deodara 'Wells Golden') is a stunning evergreen tree with a unique coloration. It is a slow-growing conifer that reaches a height of about 10 to 15 feet and a spread of 6 to 8 feet in a decade. The tree has a dense and narrow form with an upright growth habit, making it a great choice for smaller gardens or as a specimen tree. The golden-yellow foliage of the Wells Golden Himalayan Cedar stands out among other green plants in the garden. In the winter months, the foliage turns a bronze color, adding further interest to the tree. The needles are long, thin, and soft to the touch, and they emit a pleasant fragrance when crushed. This tree prefers full sun to partial shade and requires well-draining soil. It is drought tolerant once established and requires little maintenance. It is a perfect choice for a rock garden, as a specimen plant, or as an accent plant in a mixed border.
