Little Poncho Dogwood
Cornus kousa 'Little Poncho' is a small and compact deciduous tree that is highly valued for its stunning ornamental features. This cultivar is a hybrid between Cornus kousa and Cornus nuttallii and is known for its exceptional hardiness and disease resistance. In early summer, 'Little Poncho' produces a profusion of large, creamy white bracts that surround its tiny, greenish-yellow flowers. The bracts gradually turn pinkish-red as they age, creating a spectacular display that lasts for several weeks. It also features attractive, dark green foliage that turns to a beautiful shade of red and orange in fall. 'Little Poncho' grows to a height of 6-8 feet and a spread of 8-10 feet at maturity. It has a dense, mounding habit and is ideal for small gardens or as a specimen plant. It's an excellent choice for planting as a focal point, in a mixed border, or as an accent in a rock garden.
