Mariken Ginkgo
The Mariken Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba 'Mariken') is a dwarf cultivar of the Ginkgo biloba tree that is known for its compact and rounded growth habit. It typically reaches a height and spread of only 3 to 4 feet, making it an excellent choice for small gardens, containers, or limited spaces. The Mariken Ginkgo features fan-shaped leaves that emerge in spring with a bright green color and turn a beautiful golden-yellow in the fall. The foliage is dense and arranged in a tight, symmetrical manner, giving the tree a neat and attractive appearance. This cultivar is slow-growing and requires minimal pruning, making it a low-maintenance addition to the landscape. The Mariken Ginkgo prefers full sun to partial shade and adapts well to various soil conditions. Its small size and unique form make it a charming focal point or accent plant in garden beds, borders, or patio areas. The Mariken Ginkgo is also known for its excellent tolerance to urban pollution and its ability to withstand harsh weather conditions.
