Greenspire Linden
The Greenspire Linden (Tilia cordata 'Greenspire') is a cultivar of the Littleleaf Linden tree, known for its upright and symmetrical growth habit. It is a deciduous tree that typically reaches a height of 40 to 50 feet and spreads about 30 to 40 feet wide. The Greenspire Linden features heart-shaped leaves that emerge a vibrant green in spring and turn a pleasing yellow color in the fall. It produces fragrant yellow flowers in early summer, attracting bees and other pollinators. The tree's dense foliage provides excellent shade during the hot summer months. The Greenspire Linden is adaptable to different soil types and can tolerate a wide range of growing conditions. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. This cultivar is valued for its resistance to aphids and its ability to withstand urban pollution. The Greenspire Linden is commonly used as a street tree, in parks, and in residential landscapes due to its attractive form, shade-giving qualities, and tolerance to urban environments. Its beautiful foliage, fragrant flowers, and overall hardiness make it a popular choice for landscaping projects.
