Everlow Yew
The Everlow Yew, scientifically known as Taxus x media 'Everlow', is a compact evergreen shrub admired for its low-growing, spreading habit. This yew is a hybrid resulting from a cross between the English yew (Taxus baccata) and the Japanese yew (Taxus cuspidata). 'Everlow' is cherished for its dark green, needle-like foliage that covers its low, spreading branches, creating a carpet-like effect. The needles are arranged spirally around the stems, contributing to its dense appearance. This yew cultivar requires minimal maintenance and pruning to maintain its desired form. It thrives in well-drained soil and is well-suited for a variety of garden applications, including ground covers, rock gardens, or edging. Its adaptability to a range of light conditions, from partial to full shade, enhances its versatility in landscaping.
