Variegated Gold Dust Aucuba
Variegated Gold Dust Aucuba, also known as Aucuba japonica 'Variegata', is a cultivar of the Aucuba japonica plant. It is a slow-growing evergreen shrub that can reach up to 6 feet in height and spread to 4-6 feet wide. The most striking feature of the Variegated Gold Dust Aucuba is its foliage. Large green, glossy leaves are speckled with blotches of bright yellow. In the spring, small, maroon-colored flowers bloom, followed by clusters of bright red berries in the fall. A popular choice for landscapes due to its hardiness and adaptability to different soil types. It can thrive in full sun to partial shade, and is tolerant of drought, heat, and pollution. As a houseplant, Variegated Gold Dust Aucuba can be grown in a container and placed in a bright spot indoors. It prefers well-drained soil and regular watering.
